Describe your job in 25 words or less:
I am an estimator for low voltage systems. I also specialize in AV Engineering, and have been assisting the WAVE team with AV Designs.

Tell us about your career path at Wachter.
I have worked in the telecommunications and networking industry for 10 years now. I began selling electronics, home theaters, and customer service at Best Buy from 04-06. Then from 2006-2013 I worked as a systems design engineer for a residential/commercial automation company in Rogers. Where I developed proposals, change orders, floor plans, rack elevations, and systems schematics for integrated control systems and conference rooms. I brought everything I’ve learned over to Wachter in 2013 when I joined the Solutions Design Team, which has been a wonderful transition for me and has allowed me to apply all of my skillsets as a subject matter expert for Voice & Data, AV, and Security systems.

What piece of advice would you give a new employee?
Don’t be afraid to ask questions!! There are no stupid questions.

How has Wachter helped in your career development?
Wachter allows me the freedom to do my very best and to be my very best.

What first brought you to Wachter, and what makes you stay?
I was ready to work in a high paced work environment with many other people I could implore to gain mentorship and kinship from to elevate my successes.

What is one accomplishment at work you’re most proud of and why?
I recently assisted in selling a large AV design with several large video conference rooms. I was able to create a full set of floorplans, elevations, schematics, and a proposal for our client, as well as walk the site to ensure that they had followed my design. This allowed me to fall back on my expertise, and shine as a consultant for our company. I also really enjoyed working with our Project Manager, Addie Bressler, who made the opportunity possible.

When you retire, what do you hope people will say about you at your retirement party?
We’re not kidding, you really DO get to retire!!!

BONUS QUESTION:

Who is one colleague that deserves a shout out, and why?
Shout out to Jason Price for believing in me, and introducing me to Wachter!

Stay tuned for the next edition of The Swoosh!
