Our stage and configuration methodology includes the use of a material planner that schedules work orders insuring that each work order is planned, organized and scheduled based on committed ship dates to the customer. Processes could include, but not limited to, Mechanical Assembly, Electrical Assembly, Electrical Test, Configuration and burn in, Quality Assurance and Shipping. Our ERP package has a shop floor control function that can allow Wachter’s customers the ability to view the progress of their work orders via a real time web interface. Each of the functional areas is staffed with employees that have a variety of vendor certifications, such as Cisco, Microsoft and IBM.
The Stage and Configuration Department is broken down into four key areas: mechanical assembly, electrical assembly, electrical test and configuration and quality assurance. Each area has a cluster of workbenches that allows for a great degree of flexibility.
The stage and configuration area uses a conveyor system to move product from one functional area to the next. Products needing integration that cannot flow using the conveyor system, such as racks, are put in a separate area that can accommodate several racks simultaneously. The shop floor control software keeps the work orders organized and tracks individual part numbers and their serial numbers with higher level assemblies when required. The staff experience includes personnel that have up to 30 years of experience in IT related manufacturing.
